The expectations for Year 3 students are high, but there are great rewards that accompany spiritual maturity. Year 3 students are to set an example for the rest of the student body and should be able to say, as Paul did, “Follow me as I follow Christ.”
In Year 3, we value and require excellence in the following areas:
CHARACTER: Students are expected to act with integrity, honesty, respect, and the qualities of God’s agape love, as detailed in 1 Corinthians 13. Year 3 students set a high standard of operating in the fruit of the Spirit for the rest of the student body to emulate.
SUBMISSION: Students are expected to submit to those placed in leadership over the Year 3 program, honoring directions given, policies implemented, and guidance provided for a successful Year 3 experience.
SERVICE: Students are expected to attend class with a servant’s heart, open and willing to serve the school, classmates, and the student body, as needed during class time.
TEAMWORK: Students are expected to work well as a team, contributing to any team activity or project with sincere effort, a good attitude, and the intent to esteem others greater than themselves.
ATTENDANCE: Students are expected to attend EVERY class meeting. There are rare circumstances which may prevent students from being able to attend school, but attendance should be considered a matter of integrity and taken seriously. Remember that in order to get maximum benefit and personal transformation from Charis, you must be present in class. If a student drops below a 70% attendance grade, they will be in jeopardy of dismissal from the program.
PUNCTUALITY: Students are expected to show up to class on time. Make a habit of arriving 10 minutes early to ensure you have a buffer for any unexpected circumstances.
COURSEWORK/ASSIGNMENTS: Students must complete all coursework and assignments with excellence and in a timely manner. Tests must be taken by the due date in order to pass. Otherwise the test will be considered a retake with a maximum score of 70% possible.
